Mr. Bean Ratana

Director of Strategic Partnership & Education · Trading since 2015

Mr. Bean Ratana began his trading journey in 2015, driven by a deep curiosity for market behavior and a relentless desire to master strategic execution. Over the years, this passion evolved into a commitment to building smarter, more adaptive trading systems—culminating in his transition to algorithmic development with MQL5 in 2025.

He currently serves as Director of Strategic Partnership and Education at STMarket, where he designs trader education programmes, builds strategic partnerships across the industry, refines live trading strategies, and bridges the gap between theory and disciplined execution. He takes pride in making complex concepts accessible—especially for emerging traders and Khmer-speaking learners.

Whether it's through teaching, coding, or collaborating, Bean is always excited to share what he has learned—and even more excited to keep learning alongside others.

ATR Weekly Displayv1.0.0

Overview

ATR Weekly Display turns the Average True Range into an at-a-glance dashboard instead of a line on your chart. It reads Weekly and Monthly ATR across five lookback windows — 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, 2 years, and 3 years — so you can see whether current volatility is stretched or compressed relative to its own recent history.

How it works

On load, it opens ten native ATR handles: five on the Weekly timeframe with periods 12, 26, 52, 104, and 156 bars (roughly 3 months to 3 years of weekly candles), and five on the Monthly timeframe with periods 6, 12, 24, 36, and 60 bars (the same spans, in months).

On every update it reads the latest value from every handle, rounds it to the Display Digits input, and renders it as a label in a floating panel. Every reading is shown twice — once in raw price units, and once as a percentage of the current Ask price — so you can compare volatility across instruments with very different price levels, like Gold versus a JPY pair.

The panel repositions itself automatically when you resize the chart, and a Minimize/Maximize button collapses it to a single row when you need the space. It draws nothing on the price chart itself — no lines, no buffers — everything lives in the panel.

Key features

Weekly ATR at 3M / 6M / 1Y / 2Y / 3Y lookbacks

Monthly ATR at the same five lookback windows

Every value shown as both raw price and % of current price

Minimize / Maximize toggle to keep the chart clean

Auto-repositions when the chart is resized

Adjustable decimal precision via the Display Digits input

Requirements

MetaTrader 5, build 3000 or later. Works on any symbol and any chart timeframe — the panel pulls Weekly and Monthly data independently of whatever timeframe you're viewing.

Understand ATR before you read the panel

This tool displays ATR — it doesn't teach it. If you're not sure how Average True Range is calculated or how traders use it to size stops and gauge volatility, watch this first:

Usage notes & risk

This is a read-only display tool. It does not generate buy or sell signals and does not place trades — use it to inform position sizing and stop placement in your own strategy, not as a standalone entry trigger. Because it wraps MetaTrader's own ATR calculation, the numbers match MT5's built-in indicator exactly. Demo-test on your broker's feed before relying on it.
